generator removal ?
Helpin' a buddy of mine out and trying to remove the gen. I'm a auto tech. just not familliar with the shovel's. Got the case off just not the armature. Look's like housing is stuck to case with silicone. Just not sure and didn't want to dig out prybar to try.Any help out there?

On the 66 to 69 Generator shovel the generator is held on by two bolts on the cam cover side,(right) Once remove and wires disconected generator should come off as a unit.

No, it is two 7/16 bolts on the outside of the cover. Should be easy to see, the rest of the cover hardware are screws.

the bolts are on the right side going though the case to the generator housing.

Ok, found 2 allen head bolt's and removed them.but i guess the silicon's got it stuck,so guess try seperating them with screwdriver.

I'd use a stiff putty knife or scraper and gently tap in between the 2 surfaces.

you might soak the area down with gasket removing spray and let soak for an hour or so..
or bolt the generator housing back on the bearing housing, that should give you some thing more to grab a hold of..
