Default Tour Pack Quick Disconnect Kit

A friend of mine is buying a new Ultra Classic. He wants to be able to take the tour pack off when not going on long distance trips. The dealership wants $500. for the quick disconnect kit. I say that is way to much. There can't be much to that kit. Suggestions. Is there anybody out there that sells a after market kit. What all is in the kit?

Thanks.
Mike

I just bought the kit from Chicago Harley. I paid no where near $500. I had my order in about a week and it took me about 2HRS to install (I took my time). Here are the parts I ordered to make the tour pak detachable. If your friend plans on having a sissy bar or doing a one-up tour pak mount, he/she will need to get the front docking hardware kit (Part# 53803-06). The light plugs, antenna, CB, and speaker wires disconnect very easy and can be hidden under the seat. It takes about 15MINS to switch between two-up and solo(wire connects/disconnects slow things down).

1 x 53276-04 = $143.96
1 x 53804-06 = $43.96

With the parts markup and labor the ~$500 tag is not that far out of range

You will need the docking hardware, a license plate kit, and a tour pak rack that attaches to the tour pak. Then you need a rack for your garage to put the tour pak when it's off the bike. About 40.00 for the docking kit about 60.00 for the license plate kit and about 140.00 for the rack thatgoes on the tour pak, and whatever you decide to do for storage when removed. Its pretty easy to install yourself

I forgot about the license plate and garage rack. I went with the laydown mount by Haulen ***; fit and finish was perfect and it cost under $30. They are listed as one of the "New Vendors" on the site.

Here is a link to what I purchased. I also had to get the docking hardware kit and I think one other bracket to make it all work.

Default Removable Tour Pack Info

I myself have an Ultra Clasic and would like to find a kit to be able to remove the trunk and put on a back rest when just going around town. If and when you find anything out please let me know. I have been looking at other sites and they list relocation kits but not sure what all I would need.

Thanks and have an ARMY STRONG day

Being able to remove it at will is a very nice option for sure, not that hard to do yourself either
