SE-203 Cam questions
Hello to all. I have a question about the SE-203 Cam Kits. Part number 25937-99B says it is for 99-05 Dyna, 00-06 Softail, 99-06 Touring. Part number 29791-05 says it is for 05 FLSTFI 15th Anniversary models. What is the difference between these two cam kits? I heard that the Fatboy Cam kit is "50 State Legal", so I guess this would mean lesser performance? I would have thought that a SE-203 Cam Kit for an '05 would be universal and fit any '05. Is there something physically different between the cams themselves? Are they engraved differently ie one says SEH-203 and the other just SE203 so you can tell them apart? And another thing, I thought the SE fatboys came with bigger cams than the SE-203. Thanks, Calvin.

I can't help you with the various questions you have about the 203 cams. But, I have to ask why you're frying brain cells over cams that are basically stock? The 203 came out in late 1998 for the twincam and offers little, if any, advantage over stock. As a matter of fact, 203 installed in a stock 88 ci motor actually looses power down low.
If your wrench is trying to talk you into 203 cams, then I'd find another wrench.

203 Cams
This Cam is a mild mid-range cam that gives good fuel economy. This Cam is part of the Stage II Big Bore Kit for the Twin-Cam 88 engine. No need to chase the rainbow on the Twin-Cam motors. If you want more torque try some of the Crane Cam options. If you want more horsepower buy a V-Max.
