Default Any pics of a Heritage w/ Samson fishtail drags

A friend of mine wants to put some Samson fishtails (straight drags) on his '01 Heritage. He is thinking of going with the 22" or 26" length. Will he have any issues with the pipe tips hitting his saddle bags? If so, what length will clear his bags?

Anyone have any pics of their Heritage with that type of Samson fishtails?

Thanks.

Yep, my friend has the Samson True Duals to put the fishtails on. Any info on the bags hitting the fishtails?

Thanks.

the 23.5's put the tips pretty far forward. the 28.5's put the tips pretty much even with the end of the back fender. I have the 33's on my bike and you can see where they ride. I am going to the 39" after I get my airride. none of these pipes should affect running bags

Bike is a Deluxe, but it should tell you what you need to know

Thanks for the pics guys. The fishtails my friend is looking for is what James has.

James do you know what length you mufflers are? I suspect they are the 28.5" ones.

My friend usually doesn't keep his bags on unless he's headed out for a long overnight trip. He don't want to have his bags touching the fishtails which is the whole point of this thread. He's got the Samson true duals already & just needs the mufflers & wants to get the right ones.

That is one low, sweet ride.

Make sure your friend gets the mufflers specific to true duals. There are two versions, one for stock exhaust and then true duals. There is plenty of room below the bags. My Heritage Springer bags are lower than the Heritage and there was a couple of inches to spare.
FYI...if your friend doesn't like spending the $$$ for the new mufflers I've got a used set with the usual road rash underneath, or I've got a set of SE Race mufflers that are lightly used. I went to a V&H 2-1 ProPipe this year.
