$2,000 Under List Price?
Over the last few years I have bought 4 MX bikes from this guy at the local Japanese dealer. We used to be in the same business years ago but it's not like we're close friends. Anyway whenever it was time to replace my or my son dirtbike I would go around to 3 or 4 other dealers, get a price on a new bike, and have them look at my old bike, which I would bring with me, and get the trade in value on it. Then I would go back to this guy and give him the price I thought was reasonable to pay which was 2 or 3 hundred less than the lowest price I got elsewhere and he always agreed. Then he started at the Harley dealer. He has since resigned but he told me I could buy the 09 Road Glide I want for $2,000 less than MSRP. Has anyone out there paid $2,000 less than MSRP? I keep wondering why you can buy a Ford F150 for so much off list but no one seems to think you can get 10% off a Harley.

It totally depends on the area. Some areas don't need to offer discounts, some do.
When I bought my V-Rod in Oregon, I got a great deal on it, under MSRP because they just don't sell that well up there. While I was looking for the V-Rod I took a trip to Vegas and decided to get a price while visiting. They would not budge of MSRP and they only had 1 on the floor at that time. Between 2 dealers in Oregon, I had a choice of 5 different bikes.
Now when I bought my new Fat Bob in Vegas, I was able to get a tad below MSRP and some already installed accessories at a tiny discounted price.
It still doesn't hurt to check around for different prices. You never really know what kind of deal you might get.

Well if they extend it I might have to check them out. As much as 2000 dollars off seems like a good deal, I don't feel like making the hour and a half ride up their in 26 degree weather on Saturday.

Not in CO either. Some of the dealers will work a little bit but not that far under MSRP. I got a few hundred under and I was pretty happy. Bikes are still selling out here.

From the previous posts I've seen on this subject seems to depend on the area. Or else the unfortunates who are paying msrp or close to it are just suckers. And I would never believe that.
