online swap meet
ok years ago i ran with a bunch that swapped parts amongst themselves. if you needed something you asked joe because he knew what everyone was holding. if no one had it, he's ask everyone to keep an eye out. usually your part would show up within a week.
i miss that bunch.
anyway, i've had a devil of a time sourcing parts for my ride. i'm poor so new parts are out of the question. i tried craigslist, ebay, and forums but i'm spending an hour a day searching and still not finding the parts i need. frustrating.
i created a google group for parts swapping. please take a look. it works by web or email so if someone responds to your post their response will be delivered right in your inbox. no need to go hunt for your ad and check for responses.

Wow. You mean they don't have swaps over in Looville or that area??
We've had 4 really decent ones, and one more BIG one, Donnie Smith Show and Swap, end of March. Plus I always like to hit the big one out in Sioux Falls, SD. (My home territory, SD)
But no doubt whatsoever. Those days of swapping parts in the 'local' area, like we used to do, like you say, are fewer and further apart.
Guess one of the issues I have with ANYTHING I buy online, is the shipping, etc. Throw all that in, and new 'local' is not that far away, SOMETIMES. But with 'old' iron, sometimes it just is not available 'close'.

by the way its free. i'm not trying to make a living by being middle-man or anything. just trying to make it easier to find parts. so if you don't mind, pass the word along and maybe list your old parts.

Sounds kinda like the classified section of this forum, parts for sale...parts wanted...etc. And I have had super good luck buying and selling on this forum, great bunch of people here.
