Headquarters TC-500-HC vs Harley SE-204 cams?
I'm currently running a 103 with stock cams. I do a lot of heavy, 2-up riding and it's for this kind of riding I want my cam choice to most improve. I have a fairly mild riding style and normally shift at between 3000 and 3500 rpm. Rarely will I shift over 4 grand. Anyway, after a lot of research, I've decided to go with either a set of HQ TC-500-HC "Hurricanes" or H-D SE-204s.
In your opinion, do one of these cams hold a clear advantage over the other for the kind of riding I do? If you were in my shoes, which would you choose between the two and why?

Mike's advice might be great, but I haven't paid for posting a question to date and I'm not about to start now. I'm never going to pay to listen to the radio either (XM et al), but that's just me.

I would look at the ealier timing opening and duration that helps the tq. HQ-500 are a great choice, also look at woods tw5-6 or tw6-6. Seeing you do not rev your scoot so much, you can use .575 lift with your stock beehive springs. I did that with my hq575 before I could swing the 103 kit. I personally do not like the intake timing on the SE-204, jmo.

I had the 204 cams installed with my 103 kit. The cams pull strong from 1800 rpm and up. My motor now quickly revs to 5000rpm (my limit to date), and I am impressed with the setup. My only other experience is with the 255 cams, and I will take these 204 any day over the 255s, especilly if you spend time above 2400rpm. Mine was the first combo to be installed by my dealer, and he now recommends the 204s over the 255s with the 103 upgrade.
As a reference, the 204s have very similar lift and duration as the Andrews 31 or 37, but the timing events are different for all three.

The SE-204s definitely have a lot going for them in regard to what I'm looking for which is exactly why they're still in the running. Thanks for your impressions, Doc.
