I don't see much worth $500 in Harley brand seats. Better off spending the money and sending a seat you like out to get repadded.

MeanCityCycles.Com will do a better job w/ your seat for about 1/4 the cost.

but I would be interested in hearing from someone who has put one on. Looks like a unique idea, but would it feel squishy like you had crapped your pants if you are somehow hanging from the cover without touching the seat foam / pan ...if that it how it works.

It's worth it if it works! I do a lot of distance riding. I knew before I took delivery of my 09 Ultra that I'd probably be modding the seat. Now that I've got about 1300 miles on it, I know I'll be doing it eventually. I've had the Russell Day-Long Saddle conversion (www.day-long.com) on the last three bikes I've owned. They're absolutely first class. No fanny fungus for me on any of them. They're not cheap. I "wish" they were $500, , but I'll gladly pay it because I know I'll get a quality product that will last and work for me.

FWIW!
Ride Safe,
Steve R.

In theory, it should be an improvement over most foam or gel seats with regard to shock absorption, as it will prevent you from bottoming out when hitting harsh bumps. But I doubt that it will have much affect in it's pressure distribution properties. With the foam resting on a suspended material, it will still have the same "push-back" forces as if it were on the seat pan. It should be perfect with an Airhawk on top to do the pressure distribution work.

I am in the seating business, so I'll be purchasing one to check out....I'll give a full report once I've had a chance to log some long days in the saddle.

Century Harley in Medina Oh had one on a bike on the floor and I sat on it. I will say it felt very good. I haven't riden on it but sitting there for a couple if min it felt like the weight was distributed well and it was confortable and has a slot for a backrest.

I always thought the Road Zepelin looked great for looks and function but couldn't justify spending $1000 or more to change the whole set-up so it looks uniform.

Default Touring Seat

Just had Mean City Cycles do mine with the "Double Memory Foam" option $140 plus shipping. I can't say enough good things about them or their work.

They have a schedule so you have to get your seat to them by a specific date- they then work on the bike that day and you get it back in less than a week.

The modification is fantastic! I'm riding to Alaska in June and got tired of putting the gel pad on and off the stock seat. This seat will mean much more comfort for me, which is important on a trip that will be about 8,000 miles total.
