Default Valvoline 20/50 motorcycle oil

Time for an oil change, does any one use Valvoline 20/50 dino oil? I was planning on HD dino oil but if Valvoline is a good alternative I will use it.

Most important thing to remember is, "Any oil is better than no oil." Hope that helps in your quest for a better, cheaper, longer lasting and easier to find oil.

Valvoline and HD360 20W50 are both good, as are many other of the better known conventional 'dino' oils.

Harley's aren't very picky (much less so than their owners) when it comes to the oil you use, so it's more or less a personal preference.

Just change the oil and filter at a reasonable interval, and you should be good to go.

That being said, if I was going to run a conventional oil I'd probably go with Castrol GTX 20W50...

No real reson to single it out over HD360 or Valvoline other than the fact that a lot of guys I know that run 'dino' oil use it and swear by it, but I'm sure my bikes would be just as happy running Valvoline or HD360...

Pick your poison, pour it in, and go riding.

Default oil

I have been using RevTech 20w50 for the past 2 years and will be switching to the Valvoline 20w50 4-stroke Motorcycle oil this year (just bought 3 cases). The RevTech oil is now about $5.50/qt here locally and I found the Valvoline 4-stroke at the local AutoZone for $4/quart. Contacted the Valvoline Tech Line for a little piece of mind before changing over.

BTW, the Valvoline 20w50 4-stroke Motorcycle oil lableing does state that it is for use in large V-twins. Also appears to have better API ratings than the RevTech I was using.

I decided to use Valvoline 20/50 motorcycle oil, I bought it for under $4.00 a quart.
