Default 1000 Mile Service Costs

Going to do most of my own servicing, but thought it a good idea to have the stealer do the first one just to make sure. How much should this cost?

Mine was $328.00 with Syn3.

If they do what they are supposed to do the only difference should be in the shop hourly rate.

on my sportster it costs me 250.00 but on my road king the dealership wanted to charge me 350.00 so i found a cheaper authorized Harley service shop to do it for 220.00 ask around I'm sure there is a place you can do it a lot cheaper

They are going to do the exact same thing you would out of your service manual. If you are going to do "most" of your servicing, why not do it all? Go for it! It's a great way to learn the bike and KNOW it's done right. JMO. Take care and good luck.

I haven't reached 1000 mile service yet but my 06 was free and the new bike will be free as well. Might check with you dealer because 1000 mile service is suppose to be on them.

My stealer told me $380 or $415 for syn.
I bought the book and did it myself!

6 quarts of fluid approx $60 for all 3 holes
1 oil filter approx $12
1 gasket set approx $6 the big O-ring on primary and 3 small o-rings on plugs
1 tube grease approx $11 for steering head bearings

so around $90 and the satisfaction that everything that is supposed to be done at the 1000 mile interval was done and I had fun doing it and helped to get to know my scoot.
