I own a 1200C Sportster 08 with a Stage I Kit, I would like to know if there is a way to put a 100 Cubic Inch Engine in that bike?

How can I gain ALOT more power?

ummmmmmmmmm....................what are you trying to say...you want to punch out your 1200? or just put a whole new engine in the frame?

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think a RevTech or any other 100 ci crate motor will slide in there as the transmission isn't a separate unit in the sportsters. You can go as high as 90 ci with a kit from NRHS, but it requires boring the case as well as changing out the jugs. It's big dinero though.

If you want more power, look at a set of Buell heads and a set of cams to start.

I'd go for an 88" or 90" bore kit + head work and performance cams. Cheaper and more reliable than a stroker engine. Good luck.

 

S&S can take it to 103". Bring yours and your buddies wallet.

I've never heard of a sportster kit that size. Got a link? Going over 80"" cost almost 6 grand said and done. S&S advertises that there 103" kit gives poor engine life.

Dude with my 1250 I can cut the back tire loose or pull the front end up with ease.

 

I wonder if he is looking at the twin cam engines here? Which sounds right but they will not fit in the sportsters frame from my understanding. It would probably be cheaper and better in the long run to take advantage of the trade in on the sporty for a twin cam of some sort. Just a thought

 

I'm thinking he's looking at twin-cams. To stay with the Sportster but go bigger in power, look at Buellizing it - i.e. swapping pistons, crank, flywheels, cams, heads, etc. for Buell units. Buell XB12's make solid power.

 

For as much as it would cost to go 100 inches with your sportster, you could damn near buy a big *** crate motor and put it in the custom frame of your choice. A 1200 or 1250 with hot cams, heads, carb work, performance ignition, etc... will be a very fast bike. I have a '94 883 with 1250 cylinders on it and stock heads and cams and it's faster than most. With cams and head work I think it would be nuts.
