RE: Memorial Day Blowout in Gulfport, MS
I've been for the last 7 years.2002 and 2003 were the best and it's been down hill ever since. This rally use to rate in the top 2 or 3, now it doesn't make the top 20. Go to usbikerparties.com and see reviews on all the rallys. A better choice would be the memorialdaybikerparty.com in Sandy Hook, Mississippi. Gulfport costs 60 to get in if your on your bike, 30 more for car or truck, 30 more for camper or large trailer. The Gulfport police threatned to jail participants of the wet-T and bikini contest last year if they got too wild. I could have seen more at Wal Mart than I did at these two contests. I really hate to say all this stuff but it's depressing to see what it's been lately compared to years past. They have a new sheriff in Gulfport so maybe he won't have his head up his a$$ and will let this party get back to a sucessfullevent that can raise some serious funds for some needy charities. More later.............

I have to agree with poppaduece. I live about 40 miles from Gulfport and have gone every year for many years. It used to be one of the best. Now it just sucks. Cops came in and put the skids on everything. Drag racing during the day is great but night time party is pretty lame. Save your money or go to the Sandy Hook party.

I did not go but my neighbor (who I have gone with the last few years) did go. He said it was a small crowdand way to hot with no shade. He spent $60 to get inand only stayed for a few hours during the day on Saturday. He also said the people who had spent the night were saying the night time party was lame. Most people talked about going to Sandy Hook.

Thanks to all for the feedback --- sounds like this event would have largely been a waste of time and money. I have crossed this event off my list for future years.

I've been to the blowout every year since 1988. We have had 3 or 4 bad years in that time. Hey that ain't bad. It is kinda tough on ride ins, no place to get out of the sun. I would suggest packing a small tent or canopy and a bed roll. No telling what kind of show you might run into down in the camping area. We are rid of the old sheriff so we are going back to the old days, 09 is going to be a good one. The hotels are back, and the 26 mile sand beach highway is back. Remember at a BIKER party YOU are the party so don't just sit around waiting to be entertained!
