Default 1200 Sportster vs Roadstar Warrior = upset Warrior riders

heh heh
You guys should get a kick out of a thread that's going on over on the Yamaha Roadstar Warrior forum right now. For those of you unfamiliar with the Warrior it's a pretty stout bike. 1670cc air-cooled V-twin. Apparently a Warrior rider went up against a Sportster 1200 rider and got his *** handed to him. The Sportster rider claims his bike is stock and it's not going over well with the Warrior crowd. Not sure if you have to have an account to read this or not but here's some details:
(heh heh... i love stirring up trouble... )

I don't know much (or anything) about the Star Warrior, but TopSpeed.com did a review/roadtest of a 2008 1670cc model and the specifications sound pretty good.

http://www.topspeed.com/motorcycles/...47803-pa1.html

The bike doesn't weigh that much more than a rubber mounted Sportster, and the review said it puts out 80 horsepower to the rear wheel and 100 pounds of torque.

Sounds like it should be pretty quick, but I don't know...

Oh, the Yamaha Warriors are not jokes. I had a '05 Warrior and rode the p!ss out of it. That's why I'm over on the Warrior forum still. Good group of guys overall. They bash Harleys a lot over there, though and I just got a kick out of watching them squirm in the thread I pointed out. Here's a pic of my old Warrior:

That's funny, but they are actually bashing the HD less than we would probably bash the warrior if the thread was on here the other way around.

Thanks. Did you notice the hand-grenade side cover? I came up with that one all on my own. Got pulled over by a cop for it once. He told me he could write me a ticket for "being armed to the terror of the public" if he wanted to. What a dick. hahaha!
