Default Apes or drag bars.

I was considering putting either mini apes or drag bars any feed back, a guy told me drag bars 8" were the greatest. I like the feel of the mini apes on the FXSTC, my bike is a 2008 superglide.

If you like the feel already, no need to change them other than looks. I like drag bars for what it's worth. There's a lot of different kinds of bars though, keep shopping. Look at custom bars, not just the ones in catalogs. (handmade bars)

Handle bars are a totally subjective item, just like seats and foot peg location. What works for one rider will cause another rider all kinds of problems with comfort and rideability. If you can, try both styles before you buy. Forget the “Oh those look so cool” factor. Looking cool on a long ride isn’t worth much if you arrive thinking, "man, those things are killing me."

I had the drag bars on my lowrider but on longer rides I seemed to get a pinched nerve in my neck. So I switched to some 10" apes but now I find the grip area of the bar does not pull back enough and puts my wrists in an un-natural position and causes pain there. Now I am going to try some high rise buckhorns with a nice pullback, hopefully they will be the answer. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
