It definitely makes for a rougher ride. It's not that bad, I don't mind it at all and it's noticeably tighter in the twisties. The rear is adjustable and the spacer in the front tubes you cut to the length of your preference. I left the spacer out to get max drop which is about 2". I would imagine the ride would be softer if you left the spacer in.
