Nightster Springer Project pics
Oh it's commin! you bettter believe it's comming. I've been waiting patiently for a very long time for this mod. Getting tons of help doing it.
Without a doubt I have to give tons of credit to Crypto for pointing me in the right direction, and putting out excellent illustrations on his own springer nightster project about a year ago.
The most difficult task we're hitting is aquiring a good turning radius. So we've been grinding away at the lower tree little by little. Tomorrow we're installing a reinforcement bracket for the lower tree because were gonna go after some more grinding, but we almost got it, and without messing with the structual integrity.
The springer is a -2 and looks to be a DNA knock off from Mid USA but don't quote me on that.
Pics look kinda funny, but I assure you that the length is actually a tad smaller than the stock frontend because it lowered my front just a hair. which makes the bike level now because I had lowered the rear before already. Bike looks awsome when it's sitting on the ground.
Will post more pics when complete.

Nah it feels great, for me anyways. I once put on some inverted bars and yeah...that was a big mistake on my back. but I love the drag bars. They got moved in these pics though. they're kinda facing down right now but i'll fix them once out of the shop.

I converted an 06 sporty ove to a springer (DNA) two years ago. I had to install a spacer below the neck to extend the lower triple tree further down. I accomplished this by cutting the top collar nut in half. Yes, I said in half. It still won't give you enough turning radius without having to notch the frame. And believe me when I say this, because I have donw some pretty crazy mods in my life. But, the cheap DNA front end on a late model sporty is a battle you might lose. Not saying this for any other reason ,but to give you the insight that I didn't have. You know that Paughco makes a springer that bolts right on to that frame, right? What did you do to the fork lock that gets in the way of the front end?
