Two options: 1 - get a pair of Progressive 412s with Heavy Duty springs ($200~) or 2. Get a pair of takeoff Road King shocks from Ebay or similar.

if i were you i'd take advantage of progressives current sale. if you buy their 440's you get a pair of fork springs for free. since you are a bigger dude, you'll want to do more than change the rear shocks. the front springs need to be matched to your weight. i dont think they are cheap but give progressive a call and see what they recommend and what they can do for you.

Yes they do, you'll need to add some washers or cut a spacer to get the shock to clear the belt guard. For your size it would be the best (cheapest) way to go. You'll be able to adjust the air in them for you size and riding style. It might be worth it for you to also change out the fork springs.

Do a search in the the sportster forum for the road king shocks and you'll find lots of information.

I had the Sundowner seat on my 05 883C and it was way better than the Stock or the Mustang real pillow top...and i am 6'1" 250 plus my wife on it at some times...Road King shocks would be a lot of bang for the buck to start. If the Mustang seat you have on is comfy then leave it and go to the shocks.
