Default HD Screaming Eagle Adjustable Pushrods - I have to ask...

Ok, I have to ask so I make a somewhat intelligent decision...

I have to run out and buy some new pushrods for my Woods TW6-6 install. HD has two different kinds of adjustable pushrods.

The Screaming Eagle Quick-Install Pushrods - Link to them here

The Screaming Eagle Premium Tapered Quick Install - Link to them here

What are the major differences and do I care? Any issues with either of these pushrods coming out of adjustment? Any installation advice or cautions?

Thanks!

I think the tapered are made for high lift and high spring tension applications where flexing would be a big issue. The taper in the middle of the push tube inhibits the flex. Just from what I have researched.

Get the tapers. Yes they are for higher lift cams, but since they are tapered they do not rub on the tubes at the top like the original SE's have been prone to do. They are also easier to see to adjust, etc. Spend the extra cash and get the good ones.

I have the SE adjustables. When I did my cam swap, I adjusted, tightened, checked and re-checked my rods. About 2k miles down the road, I had one suddenly loosen up out on the interstate. It was noisy and I couldn't tell what was going on. I tried to start the bike one too many times and it kicked back, which bent the loose pushrod. I replaced the rod and went back and locktited them all. That was 25k miles ago and I have had no further problems....I have heard from more than one other guy who had an adjustable loosen up.
