I had to take off my primary cover to have a friend fix the mess I made when tring to bolt back on the clutch cover. Yes, stripped it out real nice. Anyway, when I took off the primary cover, I did not notice a gasket. Should there be one? Am I just not seeing it from all the frustation in my eyes? I have an 05 FLHRS, TC88.

 

There is a gasket there, it is black and very thin so you could over look it easy. The new gasket is around 30 bucks.

 

Well, I took that cover off at 11pm the night before I wrote that msg. It was a little dark and I did not notice it on my inner primary cover. But after I got back from buying a new gasket, it was 1pm and the sun was shining brightly in my garage, well what do you know, it was there all along. Darn Gremlins playing around with me again. Sorry about the false alarm. I work on computers in an office all day so this stuff is new to me.

$30 for a gasket? wow...

 

The old derby cover gaskets were a big o ring...now it is replaced with a big thin disc which is easier to install. It cost me 20.00.Make sure the printed surface faces innot out.
