Default Inner Primary Help Needed

First time installing an Inner Primary on a Shovelhead. The book says to put the O-Ring on the rotor and then install the Inner Primary. The gasket kit I got for the bike, which is a 1979 FXE, has three large O-Rings. One fits the rotor but the other 2 are larger. However, the other 2 don't seem to fit anything on my Inner Primary. There is no other gasket in the kit. Does anyone have experience with this. I appriciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks Jaqmes. Nice bike. I like that color. Seeing that there is no gasket for the inner primary to case, do you use some type of sealer?

I've just wet the oil ring lightly with oil or silicone lubricant and torqued it evenly. Seemed to work for me. Never leaked much there.

There are 2 sizes of o ring around the alternator depending on the year of your bike.I put a little silicon around the o ring.Make sure you are not pinching the o ring.If you don't already know, loosen the transmission mounting bolts so the tranny is moveable before you tighten the inner primary bolts around the alternator. Snug the ones inside the primary, then snug the ones outside. Then tighten the ones inside, and tighten the ones outside. If you do not do this you can very easily crack or break off the 2 mounts on the outside front of the inner primary. Use caution when tightening these bolts.

When I have a O-Ring that starts slipping off rather than using silicone or weather strip adhesive I use Grease ! I found thhat the grease will just squish out and I have a good O-Ring seal providing the mating surfaces are both good.
