Default Classic horn on Deluxe

Can the classic horn in the Harley Catalog (P/N 69005-85T) be mounted on an '09 deluxe in place of the stock horn. If so are there any modifications that need to be done?

Yes it can bolt right up. The classic horn has two bolt holes as opposed to one but will still mount right up. I have read that it is not as loud as the stock horn but have no personal experience with it.

The good Dr. is absolutely right on this one... They do look good... but are not loud enough to be heard.

Hey OS...

When you say it's quiet...are we talking about saying that basically you can't hear it at all over the sound of the motor?

I'm just wondering because I really like the way it looks, and thought about going that way...I'm just not sure about losing my horn completely.

I can barely hear mine over the sound of my bike when at idle... I'm gonna try and tweak it a little to see if I can increase the sound

Cool...let us know if that works out.

That old school horn cover you have blows the stock cow bell cover out of the water.

This is properly why in the Harley Cataloge it say "to be used as a auxiliary horn only do not disconnect your original horn" I did wonder why they stated this as I want one for my bones may be worth looking for a none Harley after market horn from drag or custom chrome to see if any of them are better if any one else has any joy with any other horn please let us know

Man that classic horn looks really nice. Too bad about the horn hardly being heard over the engine noise. I wornder if someone could make a custom bracket that way you can use the OEM horn and just use the cover of the classic horn to cover it up.

Anyway of removing the components of the classic horn so that the oem horn can fit in there?
