Hi all,

just picked up an 09 FXD here in NJ, has California Emissions. In your experience, does this affect performance at all? Is it a problem to remove.? I'd like to throw a tool bag down there but the tank and hoses might interfere with the mounting.

On the other hand it's sort of "funky" look and has been a conversation starter.

 

I removed the charcoal canister on my bike. It's their to trap the fuel vapors comming from the tank. It will not effect performance at all whether you leave it on or take it off.

 

not sure what would really happen but i suppose you could try it and see. if it works, great and if not you could just put it back on.

People have been taking the canisters off for years, should'nt effect performance. IMO The other thing you may want to do is remove the cat.
