CA Emissions and performance
Hi all,
just picked up an 09 FXD here in NJ, has California Emissions. In your experience, does this affect performance at all? Is it a problem to remove.? I'd like to throw a tool bag down there but the tank and hoses might interfere with the mounting.
On the other hand it's sort of "funky" look and has been a conversation starter.

...." I took mine off, The intake line comes from the vent at the fuel tank. The 'exhaust' side of the canister has two hoses. 1 vents just under the fuel tank and attaches to nothing which you can pull out. The other line goes to a vacuum port on the throttle body which you will have to plug with a vacuum plug that you can get at HD or auto parts store. The cansister just slides off the bracket. Keep it for resale of your bike or whatever might come up. If your not in CA, ditch it." ......
