Default Exhaust Heat Shields - where to buy?

I screwed up and melted a piece of towel on the front exhaust and crossover tube heat shields today. :<

Found a thread with ideas on cleaning, but does anybody know where I can buy new heat shields? I found one site that listed the front and rear exhaust shields, but not the crossover tube.

This is for a 2002 Sportster XL1200C

Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the factory heat shields?

Wow, probably HD itself. But for what they will probably charge, maybe it's time to upgrade.

Maybe it is time - suggestions on an upgrade?

I, personally, like my Vance & Hines Short Shots. But there are a lot of threads on this. Check around.

The cleaning tricks should work just fine, but if not, I just saw a bunch of complete replacement/take-offs OEM systems on Ebay for a couple hundred.....(headers, crossover, mufflers and sheilds)

Try easy off oven cleaner. Follow the directions and don't get it anywhere but on the exhaust, it WILL remove paint.
If you are looking to upgrade, Vance & hines, Thunderheadder, Bassani (my favorite), Rineheart, several others. Go to a local bike night and listen, talk to others and go from there.

Thansk all - Easy off worked for all but one spot that I tired using a rubbing compound on :< Found what I needed on Ebay so will be good shortly. Glad we are learning on this bike before we buy a newer/bigger one!

Ask around in here and I'll bet someone has a set sitting around they will give you. I would if I had some extra stock heat shields.
