Clutch Removal
Hello, its been a while...2006 1200C Sportster...My clutch went out so I started to remove just the clutch pack following the steps outlined in the service manual, when I got into it and removed the friction and steel plates I noticed the rivets on the spring plate fell apart and tore up my clutch basket so I need to replace the basket also. I am now trying to loosen the mainshaft nut but the whole clutch hub turns which also turns the rear wheel. How do I get enough torque to overcome this?
Thanks for any input you have!

Use a primary drive locking tool (modified hockey puck looking thing) and use a air ratchet. The nut may be left handed. I don't remember if it is the engine or tranny that is left handed. Locking out the primary is required & air tools not 6' breaker bars.
