Smile Chain case oil

A real quick question here. As it is storming here, I decided to go ahead and change the oil in my 05 UC. I have a quart of both Mobil 1 75/90W synthetic and Redline 80W shockproof. Which should I use in the chaincase?

If you're talking about the primary chain case, I wouldn't use either.

Gear oil goes in the transmission. You would be better off to just use motor oil in you primary. I use Redline Primary oil. Some guys use motor oil and some even use ATF. Do a search to learn more.

OK, so you are saying that I should use the same Mobil 1 V-Twin 20-50W oil in the primary chaincase as I used in the motor?
FWIW, I used the Mobil 1 V-Twin 20-50W in the motor & Redline V-Twin with shockproof in the transmission.

Yes that will work.
It's printed on the label.

That would work fine. HD is shipping their motorcycles with Syn3 in all 3 orifices. I feel the Syn 3 is too light for the tranny, but that's just me.

Still new to this Harley maintenence. The Redline 80W gearoil is marked as being specially formulated for wet clutches...

The 80w is to heavy for the chaincase save it fot the trans. Get some atf or motor oil and use it.

Just my .02 cents
