I know this has been covered, but I can not find the thread. Those pesky inserts that pull out, when tighting the windshield....Are the newer ones that "screw" into the plastic good, or should I simply epoxy the old ones in??

 

The screw in replacements are much better.

I had the center one pull out on mine, so I replaced all three. The new screw in studs are much better, and for the cost, well worth it. Just my opinion though. I had to use a soldering iron, stuck in the stud to heat it up, to get the other two out. They don't come out very easily, unless of course you aren't trying to get them out ;-).

Replace all three also. The first one the dealer did under warranty but the put it in backwards which lasted a couple of months before it broke. Replace it and the other two myself and since then no problem.

Need to pick up a few more for the four on the outer faring one of these day's if I can remember when I'm there.

 

My dealer heated up the originl one and pushed it back in. That thing is in there solid & tight. Been in there for 2 years now.

 

I pulled one out the first week I had mine. Did not know there was a better replacment and the dealer is about 45 miles away. A little 20 min epoxy on it, slid it back in and let it setup over night and it is never coming our again.
