Default 05 ultra horn

Not sure why but at times when I hit the horn it does not sound normal..Sorta muffled and sounds like a sick goose honking...Then later sounds normal...And back to the sick goose sound. Any ideas.

This horn works well, is loud, and costs a fraction of most other air horns, especially the MoCo's version.

Also, J&P Cycles sells a chrome version of this horn for about $20 more than HF.

I had the same problem with the horn on my 05...took the leads off and cleaned them but still no good...went to the auto parts store and picked up a highway blaster has worked great since + it fits in the horn cover nicely.

Sounds like either a loose wire or a bad ground.
Clean up the connections and give it another try.
Don't know if it's 'adjustable' or not...might want to look at the screw/nut, if it is.

As I said, I cleaned the connections checked all the grounds as stated above and it didn't help sometimes it worked and sometimes it sounded like a wounded duck. To me it wasn't worth dicking around with it. So spend 20 bucks and get a new one and then you don't have to be asking the question and then criticizing people who are trying to help you out.

It sounds like you have a bad horn with an intermittent problem. There's lot of vibration right there where the horn mounts to the engine.

Gotta to love your answer...:"Asked for news and got the weather"....beautiful!
Can't answer your specific problem, I spent hours trying to find the problem that I had with my horn that sounds identical to yours.
I ended up taking the advice of some of these writers and purchased a low tone horn from NAPA.
What's amazing to me is that we all continue to "pay" for the junk that's used on harley bikes.
Ride In Peace
