Quick disconnect of my tour pack

Quick disconnect of my tour pack
I just purchased a quick disconnect Tour Pack kit from HD for my 2010 Ultra Limited. Cost $500 to have them install it....I know the hardware cant be too hard to install, but the wiring can be a monster to create the quick disconnect plugs. anyone know any short cuts or things I need to look out for if I decide to tackle this on my own?

There was a great thread here a while back from a member who did this. I think he had a solution for the radio and CB antenna as well.
I was toying with doing this, but there was something about the seat being different on the street glide and the Ultra classic that made the Ultra not look as sleek as the street with the tour pak removed ? You'd have to go back and find that thread. The member who posted it did a great job with it....

If you want to significantly reduce the amount of wiring to be tucked under the seat, use this thread:

If you want to avoid relocating antennas on the back of the bike, consider J&M's in-fairing powered AM/FM/WB and CB antennas.
Good luck with your project.

Thanks... that's the thread I was referring to. I bookmarked it this time.

I did the quick disconnect kit on my 09 Ultra. Do it yourself. Its not difficult. You don't need to cut any wires. Everything in the tour pack unplugs easily and can be wound up and placed under the seat when the tour pack is detached.
The cost of the kit is over $500, which is way more than it should cost. To give the dealer another $500 to install it is insane.
