Default Quick disconnect of my tour pack

I just purchased a quick disconnect Tour Pack kit from HD for my 2010 Ultra Limited. Cost $500 to have them install it....I know the hardware cant be too hard to install, but the wiring can be a monster to create the quick disconnect plugs. anyone know any short cuts or things I need to look out for if I decide to tackle this on my own?

A buudy of mine did it. I don't think there is any wiring per say, all plug and play as far as I know. Do it yourself... My buddy did and if he can do it anyone can! I'll ask him for sure but I don't think it's a big deal.

Definitely not plug and play. There is a lot of good information here to help you decide whether you want to tackle this or not.

There was a great thread here a while back from a member who did this. I think he had a solution for the radio and CB antenna as well.

I was toying with doing this, but there was something about the seat being different on the street glide and the Ultra classic that made the Ultra not look as sleek as the street with the tour pak removed ? You'd have to go back and find that thread. The member who posted it did a great job with it....

If you want to significantly reduce the amount of wiring to be tucked under the seat, use this thread:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...etachable.html

If you want to avoid relocating antennas on the back of the bike, consider J&M's in-fairing powered AM/FM/WB and CB antennas.

Good luck with your project.

Default cb and radio antenna

the CB and Radio antenna I purchased a relocation kit which moves the antennas lower like on the street glide. the HD dude told me that it would require cutting the wires and placing somekind of plugs on the wires.

Thanks... that's the thread I was referring to. I bookmarked it this time.

I did the quick disconnect kit on my 09 Ultra. Do it yourself. Its not difficult. You don't need to cut any wires. Everything in the tour pack unplugs easily and can be wound up and placed under the seat when the tour pack is detached.

The cost of the kit is over $500, which is way more than it should cost. To give the dealer another $500 to install it is insane.
