Default Cheapest way to Put a radio in my 09 FLHT Police bike

Well I have a 2009 FLHT Police bike I got a great deal on, and would Like to put a Radio in it. I want to do this on a budget, I dont care about hand controls ect. I picked up a set of Electraglide Factory take off speakers from my brother in law who upgraded his sound system. Other then the Speakers, A Marine grade radio and mounting brackets what else do I need?? I am trying to do this all without breaking the bank. So just a basic setup will do so i can play my MP3s/CDs.

If your b-in-law installed larger than stock speakers, get the speaker adapters from him, otherwise order them from HD; they're stock on civilian EG's but not on police models.

I gotta recommend biketronics.com
I have a 09 FLHTP too - I used them. Where'd you buy your bike? I'm a Muskegon native myself. Lived there for 30 years.

Buy a quality MP3 player with a FM stereo radio in it. I've got a ZUNE 120gb that has a great sounding FM receiver that I use ear buds with.

Also, look on ebay. I find lots of good deals there. There are lots of options, most of the guys on this board will steer you in the right direction, maybe even one of the members has stock stuff laying around that they will sell you at a good price.

I put in a clarion radio/CD/MP3/USB into my cop glide. Got the radio and speakers off amazon or ebay sellers.

Hardest part is the mounting/face bezel into the glove box slot. Remove the box, fab up brackets with alum angle to mount your radio tray and make a face bezel with either some flat plastic sheet or alum covered with black leather. Mine came out great. Total cost maybe $200.

I would recommend a radio with a volume ****, so you can adjust volume with gloved hand. Pushbuttons are a pain to operate sometimes. Integrating a radio into handlebar controls is another story altogether. I didn't want to go that far and just kept it simple. I'm very pleased with the setup. Power connections can be found inside the fairing, or run a power cable direct to the battery with inline fuse.

I agree the kits sold elsewhere are probably a better way to go overall, but I'm stubborn and like to do it my way.

Biketronics has the whole set up... speakers, stereo, mounting kit, antenna... for about $360 total for the cop glide.
