I've been using it to clean my chaps and jackets for 10+ years. It hasn't harmed them. I wouldn't hesitate to use it on leather bags as a quick cleaner. However, I wouldn't substitute it for a good cleaning method. For my RKC bags, I wash them with Murphy's oil soap and then grease them up with mink oil a few times a year. Just leave the mink oil on. It will soak in over night. If you sit them out in the sun, the mink oil will soak in after a couple of hours.

I prefer to use saddle soap for my leather.

Doc Baileys hasthe the best leather care, a bottle will last a very long time, great on your boots or bags or other leather.

NOOOOOOOOoooooo! Not on leather! I use Lexol leather cleaner or you can use saddle soap (glycerin) for cleaning and then yes, do oil them occasionally. I use Olive Oil on all my leather including saddles, bridles, girths, etc. The citric acid from the lemon oil I think would make the lather more porous and brittle. But hey, each to their own. [8D]

Once again - regular Pledge, not Lemon Pledge. It works great for a quick detail, but the lemon is acidic. Been using regular Pledge for years, even on cars. Helps get bugs off later too, even Harley windshields.

Been using LEMON and Orange Pledge for many years on every part of the bike except tires and black engine power coat.
It is not Acidic and will not harm the bike. The orange stuff did change the the color of the bike a bit it was balck

As a leather ceraftsman, I would not recommend it at all. EVER!

Reason is simple, one ingrediant in Pledge is "Naphta, petroleum, light alkylate" What does it do??
This is a hydrocarbon solvent-based dispersant formulation which combines oil penetrability. In other words remember the label says "smear and smudge proof"? These are the ingredients that will break down and remove the smears, finger or dermal tissue oils.

leather has natural oils and NEEDS them in order to keep from cracking and drying out. Remeber, Leather is SKIN...or "Dermal Tissue"

Use something made to use on Leather. Saddle Soap, Mink Oil, Neatsfoot oil, or anyother leather CONDITIONER to condition (add needed oils, and Protect your Leather)
