Question 07' Sportster XL1200L, Low Fuel light

Hey, any advice will help. My 07 XL1200L, the low fuel light comes on any time I get over 60mph, and goes out when I get back to 60 or below, even does it when i just fuel up, i checked my Data codes, shows " None", any ideas?

Yes, don't trust it! Low fuel lights are the worst idiot lights with more problems than they are worth.

That is really odd.
Maybe pull the pump/sensor out of the tank and check it for loose connections and so on.

I don't see what speed has to do with it tho, its not windy INSIDE the fuel tank...

Might be a harmonic vibration that drives the sensor nuts...anyway, we all use our odometer as a fuel gauge anyway....

this happens to my 07 XL1200C sometimes... im thinking its the vibrations too... only happened on the freeway... like the other guy said... use your "trip" on the odometer... safest way to know!

ive got a nightster and my fuel light has a mind of its own , comes on when driven hard , goes out when the ignition is turned off , , its going back to the dealers as its new , but im not hoping for too much , i like a reserve switch best , you know where you are with those, not so good on an efi system though

-Thanks for all the advice, Got it fixed, a $ 4.00 part, the fuel sending Modulator, runs like it should now. Going on another charity ride next Sat. 9-11, Annas ride, registration starts at 10am-11-30am, at Southside Harley Davidson, to Eagles lodge in Whitestown, for a hog roast, and all kinds of fun, live band, 50-50, ya'll come on out and make this an even better ride than last year.

07 XL1200C - Mine does the same thing - 60/65 MPH and light comes on. Slow down or speed up it goes out. Strange. I gave up worrying about it and fill up shortly have it comes on and stays on at any speed :-) Thought I was the only one.
