Default 2011 oxygen sensors

Sometimes I just have to chuckle and shake my head at the way HD puts these bikes together. I've read a few threads that mention the correct way to hook up the O2 sensors. I've even read a few that mention seeing them hooked up incorrectly.

Here is what I found on my bike . . .

The FRONT sensor is wired to the BACK (gray plug). The REAR sensor is wired to the FRONT (black) plug.

MY BIKE

Now, to top that off, I decided to read the manual. On page 4-24 you will find this . . .

Notice anything funny?

I'm not confused but I can see how someone could get them reversed.

just add a PC-V and you don't have to worry about it!

On passenger cars they will progressively run worse to the point of being almost undriveable if the oxygen sensors are switched. There isn't an excuse for that. Did you notice any throttle response issues?

Unrelated, are the 2011 shop manuals out? I need to buy one for my RKC.

One of the happiest days of my life was disconnecting these (2) wires and removing them with the head pipe, then lugging it up-stairs for attic storage.

I'm confused. Can you tell me what exactly is wrong with the pictures other than your bike doesn't follow the color code in the manual? I also don't get the picture of the holes.

Wow. I didn't notice the markings on the pipe! When I removed them to replace my 2-1-2 header, I went to put them in and route them up to the area where they plug in. I was like, oh damn, which is front and rear! I didn't have a manual either... Now I need to look at this.

BTW, mine is just like yours on my 11. Gray plug in the back, black in the front. Wish I had checked to see which cylinder exhaust header it went to.

The location of the gray and black plugs are switched in the manual. The holes are where the sensors mount in the back of the header pipe. They are marked B and G for Black and Gray.

I checked my 2011 Electraglide and the plugs are in the same order as the OP, but they are plugged into the appropriate color coded hole in the head pipe.
