Default Saddle bags for a 2009 Sportster Nightster

Hi fellow Sportsters!

I am curious about leather saddle bags. I am sure H-D sells them, but I am curious to know who has purchased any after market ones and if so, can you post price (ballpark) and who you got it from?

I would like to put some bags on my Nightster because I now realize I have no place to put stuff when I go to the store. LOL!!!!

Thanks!

John

My first place to look: http://1200n.com/gear this guy makes his own stuff and I can say first hand the stuff is quality. Search him on ebay (ebay ID: 1200xln http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1200xln/), you will most likely get it from him at a better price.

I have a sissybar bag on the left side of the bike. Holds my lunch for work and that is all I need.

I`ve been researching what I`m going to do for my Custom - pretty sure I`ll go with a solo bag from LaRosa - has the look I like and the price is reasonable.

Although not a Nightster (shouldn't make any difference), I have bags from U.S. Saddlebag Co. on my bike. They are excellent quality and while I really hate the way bags look on my bike, these are fairly decent looking, all things considered. I commute on my bike and needed storage for my laptop, lunch, and rain gear. Doing the backpack thing was getting really old.

I think these normally sell for about 5 bills with the mounting brackets. I was fortunate enough to score them from a fellow HDF member for less than half that price. May not hurt to keep an eye on the classifieds.

Default Saddle bags?

I have a set for my 48 and it is the saddle bags and top bag. Easy to install and take off. I got this brand Cortech, it matches the stock seat and has alot of room to put whatever in. Rain gear, extra gloves, full size leather jacket, cell, clothes ect. I paid $200.00 for the setup and it has come in handy on some long trips. Heat shield on bottom of the bag and lots of pockets. I only use them on long trips and when i get home they can be removed in a few minutes without any hardware showing. You can use the top fender bag alone or the throw over bags alone. Bags open out an extra few inches for more storage.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up going with a Licks Solo Bag. I am only riding around locally and not going on long hauls or commuting so I decided on a small bag.

I'm really interested in getting this setup, can you give me model names for the sissy bar and cargo rack?
