Nitrogen in tires
#4
Apparently its dryer than regular air so the tires last longer... something like that. I think it was like $50 or something when I bought the bike. If it keeps my tires lasting a couple hundred miles longer than I'd say its worth it but who knows.

true, nitrogen has no moisture. the benifit is supposed to be you have no erratic pressure change in the tire, mainly excessive pressure rise due to heat build up. the thing for nitrogen to work correctly and be a benifit, the tire assy must be pumped down like a ac system to remove all moisture and never use regular compressed air to top off the tire if it does get low. as for making a tire last longer due to no moisture, i haven't heard that one.
that being said, its great for race vehicles in tires and shocks because the pressure won't build and it makes for a more consistent handling of the vehicle.

It's a gimmick air is 78% nitrogen if you where racing then it would be worth it since nitrogen stays pretty constant and doesn't expand. If you check your tires once a week unless you are loosing air it's a waist but it helps keep people earning money.

Harley in Palm Beach Florida has Nitrogen on there Display bikes, They put green caps on them, The problem with air is when add to your tires it gets some water from the air compressors not having proper filtration, My freind does tires at his shop and you can see the old tires are wet inside and it rots the rubber, I have good filtration on my own compressor and I still cant keep the water out, The nitrogen comes clean in big tanks that look like the welding tanks...Crash
