Question 2011 103 Engine running hot. Any ideas why?

I just bought a 2011 Electra Glide Ulta Limited with a 103 engine. I have found the primary and heads run hot and stay warm after the bike has sat for some time. Fluids are checked and at the correct levels. Any ideas?

By hot, what do you mean; they all run fairly hot and will take time to cool down when parked. Of course cooler weather they cool quicker.

your going to need to get a tuner on that bike, meaning a power commander, fuel pak, sepst, tts, thundermax or what ever you desire, bikes come lean from the factory, good idea to change the air cleaner when you add a tuner as well, check out fuel motos website

It's an air cooled engine. Did you have a digital thermal gun to confirm it's hotter than the rest of them?
After you park, theirs nowhere near as much airflow around the motor. Plus it's a cat bike, and they are likely to run a bit hotter than a few year older one. I say get over it and ride.

How many miles on it? Bike will run a little hotter during break-in. Also you have a cat in the head pipe.
My 103 runs about 220-250, but I have a canned map and V&H Power Duals/Monster Rounds.
Going for a tune next week should bring the temps down.
Get an oil temp gauge. What you're feeling might be normal temps.

Its an extremely hot feeling engine, but I've been told that it feels hot because it dissipates heat very well (and runs relatively cool).

Thumbs up Cat

Grab the CAT by the tail pull him throw the pipe so the HOG can breathe. This is a good place to start.
