Default Need some ideas to customize

Finally can post some pics of my 2004 883 Sportster. It's really clean and I got it for a decent price. I just wanted some inexpensive ideas to customize.

Default Customizing ideas

Congrats on your new ride. Nothing is inexpensive on customizing. Are you looking for increased performance, handling, looks? One of my friends told me to ride the bike for a month before I did anything because I'd probably change my mind several times about what I wanted to do. That was good advice.

For looks and performance I changed my pipes to V&H 2 into 1 pipes. For pure looks, I moved my turn signals down to the forks and put little visors on them. New bars make a huge difference to comfort and the looks. Bars aren't that expensive unless you have to get all new lines (brake, clutch, etc) Then the price goes up a lot!!

Enjoy your ride and have fun making it your own.

There are a few threads that are mostly picture posts of peoples sportsters. For looks and style mods these are great for ideas. As a new owner they were a great place to get ideas. Just start making a list and hit what you can when you have the cash. I have my list started and I am going to start the mods when I can.

Yea, just look around and see what catches your eye and go from there. But remember, many mods aren't exactly cheap. But there are several low budget mods around here that do look good. Ya just gotta keep looking.

Since you put the Sundowner seat on, go ahead and put the air shocks on now, you'll love the difference in the ride!!

There is a very good write-up with detailed instructions on this forum too.
