So looking at the manual and messing around with trying to get the pump out of the tank, I just can't figure it out, anyone got a video or any advice on how to get this damn thing out of the tank? Thanks.
doest it just turn out with some force? i know they make a socket tool, but looks like if you weren't too ruff some wood and a hammer would spin it loose

I'm not talking about getting the locking cam off the tank, I've got that done already, I need to get the fuel pump out of the tank to get at the fuel filter and check the fuel line for a pin hole, I hear gas spraying when i hit the fuel pump switch.
I cocked mine to the side and pulled it out. This was on my 08 when I did the fuel filter shell
Thanks for the pics and advice, I think my problem was that I was using my old Fatboy as a referance, the fuel pump was on the left side of that tank and it appears that the Touring bikes are on the right hand side. I'll give it another crack and see what happens.

Possible, but it sounds just like my fatboy did when it got pin holes in the fuel line. The only problem I'm really having is a hard start 1 or 2 out of every 10 or so.
Fuel pumps are in the center of the tank under the center console or ignition switch.
cap on left is fuel gauge
cap on right is fuel
cap in center top would be a touring model...
LOL, I must not be doing a good job of explaining myself. I know that access to the pump is under the center console. I'm talking about the pump its self, inside the tank. It sits in the right hand side of the inside of the tank. My old fatboy the access was also under the console, but the pump its self was in the left hand side of the inside of the tank.
I changed a couple, and from what I remember I disconnect the lines and the wires with the fuel pump still in the tank. You still have to wiggle it to get it out.

Gotcha..
Take cover off...remove pump
You'll have to twist your tongue just right to get it out, make sure you don't damage the float arm or sender unit. Patience is the key here.
