2009 streetglide cam question
Howdy all, Like it says I've got a 09 streetglide with 20,000 miles and I want to put a cam in it. I want POWER from take off all the way to high end. I'm reading lots of posts and getting ideas and tax return money is here and I want to get the most bang for my buck. Thanks for your help.

Raider you will get lot's of answers, if I were doing it myself again I would look at the total package, Jamie at fuel Moto has a good package, cams, exhaust and tuner that is ready to go, plug and play after install of the other goodies, if the HD dealership is doing it I prefer the 204 cams, I have them now and love them, great bottom end and awesome top as well, this IMO, like I said you will get lot's, good luck.

Had the 255's and they have great low end TQ but, fall off about 4,000 rpm. When I went 103" I changed to Andrew's 54H cams. They are similar to the 555's and can be found cheap on ebay. I like mine! Good luck!

Lotta Ways to Go!
Raider, there are many answers to this question. I have a '09 RG, with a Wood Tw-6-6 cam, 107 motor. If I had it all to do again, I would just cam the 96" and let it go. The Wood Tw-555 looks to be making good numbers on a 96", but I find Wood cams to be a little noisy because of the aggressive ramps. I've heard that can be cured by using his lifters, but that is an additional expense. T-Man make a TR-555. Looks like it makes good numbers and it about $50 less than Wood, also don't have to change lifters. Head-Quarters makes three cams that will bolt in a 500, 525, and 575 lift. 575 is the limit on stock heads. They all have long duration on the exhaust which I have heard helps to cool the motor. Heat was a problem on my stock motor. Andrews cams are also good and the MOCO has some that work well. If your bike is completely stock pipes and air cleaner are another consideration. Then there is fuel control. PC-V, T-Max, TTS, SE. I personally am running a T-Max, but I'm changing to the RevPerf EMS this week. If you want to buy a used T-Max let me know. It will be on the market soon. I also have a PC-V with Autotune that I want to get off of. Both work well.

Having just recently gone thru the hell of trying to make the right cam choice I'll tell ya what finally pushed me to make a decision.... Just make a decision... the stock 96 biggest weakness is in the EPA cams and pretty much any of the popular cams discussed here will give u a great performance increase. I did a lot of reading on this site, on other sites and I also talked to bob wood of woods cams and then I just went with my gut, feeling like it was unlikely I would make a poor choice. Turns out I made a great choice......
