Default 14,105 miles on Dunlop Elite 3 Rear Tire

That's right! 14,105 miles on the Elite 3 tire. My 2007 Ultra Classic has never gotten anywhere close to 6,000 miles on regular Dunlop, Michelin, Avon or Metzler, but the Elite 3 got-r-done. I weigh 270 lbs and have never expected too much, but this is good. My first Elite 3 got about 11,000 miles. These extra miles on the latest tire include a Stugis trip and road miles like that take very little off a tire....Changing the tire today (with another E-3).

My rear E-3 is about 50% worn but the outer edges are cupped so bad I'm gonna haft to replace it soon! When I go around a curve feels like I'm running on a wash board! And yes I do check and maintain my air pressure reguarly!

Gotta love the E3 <grin>
I just put another on my 07 Ultra a few weeks ago ..

Thabull -- I'm not saying it's not possible, but I've not heard of E3's cupping, especially on the rear .. You might have something else going on..What psi are you running?

on my 07, i had over 13,000 on my e3 when i traded it in and it still looked good. i ran 38 psi on both front and rear.

on another note, the rear dunlop on the new 2010 has lasted me 14,000 and i should be able to get at least another 3,000 out of it. and i don't wait until the last second to replace my tires.

When I first got my EIII's I called Dunlop and they suggested HD recommended tire pressure. Without looking I think that is 36 rear and 40 front. I keep both front and rear at 38 - 40 myself and no problems. If I get 10K out of my rear I will be a happy camper.

That is damn good service HarleyJoe ..... But I'd be careful bragging about it .... If Dunlop gatches wind they might " change the compound ". Seriously though, I have been using Dunlops for more years than I can remember and wouldn't choose any other brand!

Just replaced my rear E3, which had a little over 14k on it. I wore the tire down to the indicators and had some feathering of the edges and felt like a low tire when taking turns. Been a great tire and replaced with a new one last week.

FYI, I purchase my tires from Jake Wilson.com and cannot get the tire any cheaper from anywhere around me and most shops don't carry it.

I average about 16k on my rear stock Dunlop 402's. Pretty tough to beat that so I stick with them.
