Thank you, that was my intent. No, that is the OEM speedo bracket\assembly from the "48". It lays much flatter than the OEM on Iron's and Nightsters. I was very happy wiht how it turned out, as I did not want the side mount speedo.

Was it just a straight swap from the Iron mount? Simple unscrew stock iron mount/bracket, swap speedo, screw in 48 bracket?? Such a great alternative to the side mount...

Unfotunately it was not that easy. You have to get (at minimum) 3.5" risers to clear the headlight visor so the button under the speedo is still useable. The "48" clamp is not the norm either (no idea why this is not a stock mount), which means the risers have to be ground down a bit on each side to fit the clamp properly. I have a buddy with a shop, he did it in about an hour (was real careful not to mess up the risers where you could see them) I think we took a break also. No changes to cables though, was able to keep all stock.

The OEM parts from Harley were arund $100, $40 for risers and a case of beer for my buddy, still way cheaper than a Joker Machine kit (which also sticks out too far, for my taste). Some of the ones tucked in tight on the side look better, I just wanted to retian a mostly stock look, loved the bike first time I saw it (its' why I bought a bike). Just need to be blacked out a bit more, and lose that tumor or a speedo mount.
