thank you .. much appreciated... why would a dealership tell me 0.028?
everywhere I look, including another dealership, it states 0.040
Maybe someone read the 2 as a 3. Old service manuals can get pretty nasty and sometimes stuff is hard to read as is.
And, before anyone else yells at you for it, if you are going to do much of your own work, a service manual will be invaluable. It has all this info and more in it, and it more than pays for itself. (Mine cost $50 and it saved me that in labor the very first day I got it.) Plus then you can look up this info whenever you need it instead of trying to search for it and wondering if it is accurate.
HD Service Manual or Clymers Manual for your bike are what I recommend.
