Looking to upgrade the stereo on my 2011 Street Glide with new amp & speakers.

After sifting through countless threads, it seem like people really like Hawg Wired products.

While I'm sure it's great, is there any better gear out there that I'm not aware of?

Music is very personal. I myself have the Arc Mini 125.2 and Infinity Kappas 945i's and it sounds good to me.

Get what YOU like and don't worry about what others think.

For the price....Hogtunes are pretty damn good. Other systems of the same sort cost hundreds of dollars more. Not only are they cheaper they have great customer service. Be aware of ebay items due to Hogtunes "return" policy. If an item doesnt work you keep it and they send you out a new one; some people like to sell their broken items on ebay.

 

Buddy of mine has the hawg wired stuff in his 09 SG and paired up with the alpine-x305 headunit it sounds great!

Now I have a friend of mine that works at a stereo and gets me stuff for a decent price so for about half what that hawgwired/alpine setup cost I'm gonna try out a new Kenwood KIv-701, Boston pro se60 speakers and a nice lil JL audio xd200 amp... I'll let you know how it goes!

 

+1 - I just installed Hog Tunes amp & speakers in my 2010 Street Glide. Was super easy to install. I watched the install videos for the speakers and amp on their website and then followed the guide. Whole process took around an hour. Also, you should not buy used on eBay as he noted...there are some retail sellers on eBay with good ratings who will sell you a new setup for under $240. There are a lot of ways to skin this cat...

If money were no object this is what I'd do...

J&M's 4 channel amp (or other suitable amp thatll fit in the fairing)

Focal K2 5.25" or Morel Elate components in the fairing using the hogtune tweeter pods to mount the tweets.

Vented lowers with 7" or 8" SUBS, kicker has an 8" sub that will probably fit.
Aftermarket headunit such as an Alpine or JVC.. If you don't want lowers on your ride use the 6x9 saddlebag lids and put some nice focal 6x9's in em instead.

That's truly the way to go if you ask me. I will get there eventually. Working on suspension right now.

what ever you decide, I would highly suggest getting a amp of some sort or you will be wasting your time..
