Default Paul Yaffe bad businessman or genius?

I was thinking about it and is Paul Yaffe a bad businessman or genius? A friend of mine wanted to order some 10" MBB's and was told it would be two months to get them. They are great bars and well worth the wait but why and how is he so far behind? Is he that bad of a businessman not to hire more people to get his products done in a timely manner or is he a genius by keeping supply low so the demand is greater?

If the 10" MBB are for the Batwing you can get those now on Ebay. 10" and 12" are available. Now if you are talking the OEM for the RG I gave up waiting after 7 weeks for a set of 12" when I was told another 4 weeks. I found a guy selling his extra 10" OEMs and decided that the price was low enough to go shorter. Great bars no matter where they are made, but damn ramp up the production line for goodness sake. These kind of delays will only **** people off.

It's been well documented for months that it takes some time to get a set of Monkey bars. There's lots of other guys making bars if you don't want to wait for the Yaffe bars. Look at Carlini and Todds Cycle. If you want cheap, chinese made bars, J&P sells Arlen Ness bars.

Those are complex bars to make, and you guys demand very high quality. How easy do you think it is to find a shop that would be willing to even take on a job like that? You're only talking a few dozen bars a month, which is very low production, and no margin. Most shops wouldn't even be bothered with something like that. You need to find a skilled welder, who is actually looking for work, which isn't as easy as it sounds.

I really would have liked to get a set of Monkey Bars on my Glide, but wasn't in to the wait. Went with WO 515b instead - installing this week.

Read the fine print on those Ebay PYO Bars. I bought a set and have been waiting for 6 Weeks as of Monday. I was sent an email after I paid that it would be about 2-4 weeks. When a month passed they told me 6-8. PY definitely needs as "Supply Chain Manager". They seem to have an excellent product if you can get it.
