Default 14" Yaffe Monkey Bagger Bars

Hello friends,

I know this issue has been beaten to a pulp, and I did search, but the results weren't very helpful to me.

I am about to pull the trigger on the PYO MBB's. I am having one hell of a time deciding on what size to go with.

I know I can find a set of the 12" bars fairly easily, or should I say quickly. Not really in any hurry though, got enough going on that I don't plan to do the install until the season is over.

Does anyone have pics of installed 14" bars though? The baggernation site has a clear pic, but it's from the side, and I'm having a tough time gauging the height of the bars.

12" bars seem to be popular. I want to install them and turn heads, as well as increase my comfort. Will 14'' bars be too much? I'm after a dramatic look with the bars. Pretty sure they'll have my hands over my shoulders, but I can't imagine by much.

Does anyone have any pics of the 14s on a batwing bike? Hopefully from straight behind?

Thanks!

Fish,

Here is some pics of my 14" PYO bars. One thing to keep in mind is although they are supposed to be 14's they measure out much closer to 16 inches at the grips. I'm probably going to install higher bars this winter.

Nitechecker....that's a beautiful SG. Nicely done all around.

I look at those 14s, and they don't look bad at all. Other times, I see the 12s and think they look huge.

Your pics are definitely pulling me to the 14s though. What size cables for you go with? +8?

thanks Fish,

I really dont know what + size my cables are, I should of measured them. I called this guy http://www.hdbikeparts.com/ and told him what I have and he sent me what I needed. Great guy to deal with. I would NOT recommend the Jaffe "super size kit" it was not worth it at all IMHO. Running the wires was not fun. I've wired several bars and these were a bitch.

You know Wild One has some really nice bars with that same style corner bend up to 14s. Just got my 16s from them, waiting on some other pieces to put on my bike.

I didn't know anyone else made that style. Thanks SteelCity, I'll check them out.

Sorry, I've got 12's also but I'm thinking about going higher next year too...maybe 16's to give me a little more pullback...not sure lol

12's on mine. They are comfortable on the long haul without pulling too high

I am 5 '11 if that helps

Well, I called Dr VTwin, and put my order in. I'm planning on a winter install, so I can have my inner PTM'd at the same time.

I ended up going with the 14's. Also ordered new brake and clutch lines (I have an FLHXSE, so I needed a hydraulic clutch line), wiring extensions, and new bushings.

For those that have done the install before, I've see talk about getting the SE throttle-by-wire module. Is this a must have item?

And now the wait...Even though I plan to ride through the season, I still can't wait to see these bars.

You made the right decision. I have 12s but I would go with 14s if I had it to do over. The SE TBW moves the plug from the top of bar to the bottom. It makes pulling the wires on that side much easier.
