Transmission oil level check on 883n
I own a service manual...... But it's at home and me and the bike are not.
I removed the derby cover and lost some oil when changing the clutch cable (on side stand). The parts guy at the dealer sold me a quart to top it off.
Short of a full drain and refill....
How do I check the level?

All it takes is a quart to fill it .. just drain and refill

Depends on which bike you have, but I think it's mostly the same for Sporty's.
You should be able to put the side stand on, open the derby cover, and the oil should sit at the bottom of the clutch.

If you are just topping it off, set it upright using a block of wood or something under the stand (or have someone hold it upright for you), fill to the bottom of the derby cover, then reinstall the cover.

Hey which oil did you use? I assume the tranny and the primary oil are the same.

i read on another thread that it's ok to use Mobile 1 75-90. But the only Mobile 1 75-90 oil I found was gear oil. Is that the same thing?
