Default Royal Purple Motorcycle Oil

I have not been on this site for a few months and I do apologize if this was already discussed in an earlier thread. Has anybody used “Royal Purple Synthetic Oil” on their Harley, if so do you like it. Thanks

I have used the standard 20/50 RP in my bike...... I never have run any oil specific for "motorcycles".......While I always preach you get what you pay for the RP oil is stupid expensive......There much cheaper oils that will do exactly the same thing for less money////IMO

I did the RP course on my two bikes and 5 cars. Nothing to wow about. Also did the AMSOIL course, no wow there either. Tried HD, Mobil 1 and Belray. The Belray stuff did wow me. But overall, price value wise, I think the Mobil 1 motorcycle 10W/40W and 20W/50W is the best bang for the buck.

what wowed you about the Belray stuff?

I use RP in my truck, but only because I tow a boat with it and don't change the oil for 5000 miles.

When I buy it by the case (12) I get Redline 20W-60 for $10.25 including tax from a local supplier. I do find this makes the motor run quieter in my bike.

I started inventorying and retailing Royal Purple here at our (auto repair) shop before I bought my glide. They are a local company, some of their employees are customers of mine and I wanted to offer synthetics as an option to my customers so they fit, I like to support those that support me.

I've been using it for years in all my vehicles and all I can tell you is that my drive train did get quieter when I changed from OE to Royal Purple....that's got to be a good thing right?

Oh, and I don't use the cycle max or whatever they call it, just regular 20w50.

I used RP 20w50 auto oil for about 40 k and I liked it. Then the price sky rocketed and I switched to Mobil1 15w50 for the last 10k and I'm happy with it. NAPA has it for $5 a quart til the end of June.

I've been using the Royal Purple 20-50 motor oil for 5 years in two different bikes and like it. No problems or issues with it and besides all the hype it's all but impossible to tell any difference between oils.
