No wonder the Missouri river is flooding. Beautiful pics though.

 

I did see a trailer up there, I'm sure some do early morning before it gets too slushy and on the week-ends. A couple more passes should be open soon, Mirror Lake Hwy goes up to 11,000 feet so that will be interesting. In case you missed it, I posted a link yesterday of how they work the passes.

 

Is that Wolf Creek Pass the very same "37 miles of Hell" that C.W. McCall sang of?

 

Cool, never heard that song before but it's in CO. and another great ride which probable still has snow at the top. I have ridden it several times and a few years ago passed a GW going down and then he cuts me off on the inside going into one of the tunnels. I got along side him again a gave him some words and that was the last I saw of him.

Wolf Creek Pass is on US Highway 160 in Colorado between Pagosa Springs and South Fork. It tops out above 10,000 feet I believe. CW McCall lived nearby in Ouray for a while and wrote a song about another treacherous Colorado road, Black Bear Road, which is off US Highway 550 at Red Mountain Pass near Ouray. Both great songs!
