I was just curious about what the max weight is for an 883. I am 5'10" and 265, and I'm worried that the bike I will be getting is going to be significantly bogged down because of this. I won't be riding 2 up at all, because my wife is thoroughly opposed to bikes, so it's just me. Any thoughts and opinions, other than eating less and exercising more (that killed 2 comments with 1 stone!)?

 

I have a 1200C and I'm 240 and my woman is 150. I have progressive 412HD's and I have yet to bottom out with them. I believe the max weight is 1000lbs.

At 265 youll be fine im 6'2 about same weight but I also ride 2 up with my teenage kids and they go 120 to 240.
And I have an 06 883c and wish it was 1200 owell hopefully this winter ill do the 1250 kit

 

I saw a guy on a 883 sportster newer one yesterday if he was under 375 it was a miracle it didn't seem to have a problem hauling him.

IMO you're way too big for a Sportster. I'm 5'8", 155 lbs. Buy a Streetglide.
