Default Shifting Hard

Rode 1 1/2 hours other night. Boy did it clunk and shift hard.
All new amsoil in all three holes.

Ordered some Redline and going to redo tranny and primary and leave the amsoil - oil in engine.

Will repost if I feel a difference. Will take a few days to get the oil.

Could linkage adjustment have anything to do with it?

Make sure you are not over-filling the primary. Too much fluid in the primary can cause hard shifting and difficulties finding neutral. Been there, done that.

Just put redline MTL in my primary a week ago. Works for me, less clunk and clutch feels better.

a lot of folks report better results with a lighter weight in the primary. 10W40 seems to shift better than 20W50.

Hopefully you won't go through what I just have. Bought the bike with 6K on it, made it to 20+K and find the harder than what I considered as normal shifting was due to a bent first gear fork from the previous owner that filled the box with metal filings and ate the gear train. Pay attention to it and if it persists find a indy to look it over thoroughly!
